International Women’s Day 2020 | Teaghan Weaver

ZircoDATA embraced the #EachforEqual theme for this years International Women’s Day and will showcase some of our outstanding and talented ladies from across different parts of our business. Tell us more about your role and what this entails? What do you enjoy about your job? Being an HR administrator entails planning, directing and coordinating administrative functions, as well as all aspects of employee relations. Though I believe HR plays a big role in developing, reinforcing and changing culture within an organisation, it’s also about supporting an organisations biggest asset, their people. I enjoy my job because I’m given the chance to create meaningful and lasting relationships and learn new things, I’m constantly learning. What singular moment in your career or personal life has made a significant impact on your personal and/or career development? Completing my double degree in arts and commerce, majoring in psychology and human resources. This was a big achievement and has paved the way for my career development and is what enabled me to have the opportunity to work for ZircoDATA. This years theme for International Women’s Day is #EachforEqual which is about “Collective Individualism”. What does “Collective Individualism” mean to you as part of your role at ZircoDATA or individually?  Collective individualism to me means we are all independent, unique beings with our own morals and personal goals. Though we appreciate everyone’s differences and collectively work as a group to achieve common goals and ensure ZircoDATA’s success. Who is your mentor or role model in business and why?  Personally, Nektaria and Lara, I would consider these ladies to be my business mentors and role models. They are both great at their job and are very knowledgeable. Both have spent a lot of time training and mentoring me in all aspects of Human Resources. What advice would you have given to your younger self if you had the opportunity?  Believe in yourself more and take a leap of faith. Take some risks and don’t worry about the “what if’s”. Don’t be too afraid to put yourself out there, and take action sooner rather than later. Tomorrow we will get the opportunity to talk to Ashley Gunal who has been with the business for over 10 years.
